Today I came across an issue when installing Google Site Kit. The error I got was “There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”
This is the first time I have seen this error when installing Google Site Kit and so I immediately turned to the best practice in this situation; I went to my server and disabled the Google Site Kit plugin in my wp-content/plugins folder. I was then able to get back into the website admin area to go through the process of disabling all plugins and then activating one-by-one.
By activating Google Site Kit first with no other plugins activated I could then activate all other plugins one-by-one until the error occurs again. The error re-appeared when I activated Slider Revolution. So I headed straight over to Google Search and found a topic on the WordPress.org site which mentioned a patch released by Themepunch which I implemented; I am pleased to say this rectified this issue and I can now sucessfully run Google Site Kit with Slider Revolution and all other plugins I had installed.
